I am a behavioral scientist, social impact creator, and life enthusiast. I am entering my final year as a PhD Candidate in Organizational Behavior at London Business School. As a scholar, my research focuses on mindsets in organizations and workplace diversity. In my first research stream, I study how mindsets about malleability (i.e., fixed vs. growth mindsets)—influence individuals’ job attitudes, well-being, and behaviors during challenging career situations. In my second research stream, I examine how assumptions about differences (e.g., cultural, gender, racial) shape workplace diversity by affecting people’s social networks, inclusion, and opportunities. My research has been presented at prestigious international conferences and received awards at global research competitions. Before transitioning to academia, I spent seven years in the financial services and technology sectors across the US, Asia, and Europe. I provided professional services to Fortune 500 companies and led teams at a Silicon Valley startup through its IPO. These management experiences have inspired my research interests in organizational behavior. Originally from an agricultural town on the coast of Taiwan, I left home at age 12 to pursue higher education abroad. I completed high school in South Africa, New Zealand, and Canada within 2.5 years. I graduated as the youngest student with a BSc in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and an MSc in Finance from London Business School. I also qualified as a Certified Public Accountant by the age of 20. Inspired by my education journey, I have developed a deep passion for supporting education. Beyond my teaching work in universities, I also actively engage in mentorship and volunteering work. My experiences include advising a musical theatre school in the UK on financial strategies, mentoring female entrepreneurs in emerging markets, and designing academic training programs for underprivileged students. I am particularly driven by the mission of preparing the next generation for the challenges of the Future of Work. I enjoy improvising on the piano, skiing in the Alps, and building my photography portfolio.
